Pilot Programme Stage 2:

In April and May 2001, three additional projects ran in London, Bristol and Sheffield, with groups working with Katherine Hunter, Ron Bunzl and Gail Kelly.

One outcome was that Jackson’s Lane Theatre in London and the Albany Centre in Bristol invited groups to return in the Autumn to present the findings of this initial exploration. This was self funded by the artists involved and also included artists who had participated in the earlier stage of the project.

'a memorable and inspiring week. More laboratories like that needed.’

'(A) Wonderful opportunity, like doctors on a conference, I felt it was a justified project, why not undertake practical research, dissecting and fusing artforms. Unique and Revolutionary!’

'Circelation was a rare opportunity for circus practitioners across the UK to work together, play together and be creative. The pieces devised by all the groups in such a short space of time were excellent. My favourite moment was the opportunity to finally get to meet one of NoFit State's earliest influences - Reg Bolton.’

'I gained a huge amount of inspiration from Circelation. I genuinely would not be where I am today if it hadn't happened, as the direct results for my career have been great!'
