Laboratories is probably the clearest way to describe this week long course. Nigel Charnock and Sue Broadway each acted as mentors for up to eight directors working in or colaborating contemporary circus performance.

There were be a number of stages to the days:

i) Rehearsals: each director worked with performers on a short performance piece.

ii) Showings: the performance piece was shown to the entire workshop group.

iii) Discussion: the performance was be critiqued, general problems arising from the performances were be discussed and then tasks were set for the following day’s performances.

iv) Soirées: Circelation hoseted two evening meals, with invited speakers.

The selected directors were expected to bring between 2-5 performers with them for the week.
